About
From the design centers of Barcelona to the runways of Paris
After graduating from the Ecole de Joaillerie et de métaux d"Art de Montréal where Esty learned the essentials of jewelry making and technique she went on to do a number of metalsmithing-specialisation workshops in Canada, the US and France. Both passionate and curious, seeking a more artistic approach, she enrolled in the 3-year Design and Contemporary Jewelry programme at the renowned Escola Massana in Barcelona. Upon completion Esty moved to Paris where she was soon noticed by such major players of the fashion industry as Thierry Mugler.
Between water and metal
In 1994, having been awarded the "Jeune créateur" prize for contemporary jewelry by the City of Cagnes-sur-Mer, Esty was given the opportunity to live on the French Riviera. A free-diving enthusiast, she would now be able to fully embrace her passion for the sea and precious metals. "The sea is my refuge, free-diving my passion, jewelry making the art form, metal the medium." Between water and metal, she finds unsuspected similarity. "They have the same fluidity and I can move through both with the same ease."
A passion revealed
2003 brought with it a new opportunity: designing exclusive collections for Birks & Mayors, renown Canadian firm with over 70 points of sale in North America. Esty was signature designer for Birks for over 10 years. An independent goldsmith, creative, passionate, true to her values and her adopted homeland, Esty welcomes you to her studio/gallery, a few steps from the castle in the medieval town of Cagnes-sur-Mer on the French Riviera.
